Bikers Across The Nation

Updated: May 10

Being an organization that has never been created before is not an easy adventure. It's pretty overwhelming, to be frank. I started this as a safe space for bikers. I was tired of seeing how many groups existed, but none had an organization that united them all, helped advertise for them, or offered support. In my research of how organizations in the "physical world" are supposed to unite people, I found that they were not uniting but, instead, taking away from the biker community.

The biker community deserves an organization that appreciates its diversity. Bikers shouldn't have to change or fit into a "box" to be united. We need an organization that unites them, breaks bread with them, listens to understand, and creates ways to help. That is the kind of organization I believe is needed. We are not here to change you, bikers. We are here to walk in your shoes, listen to understand, empathize, and most importantly, be a united organization that supports every single biker.

We are one of the first organizations breaking bread with clubs, but we are not doing so to become a club. Bikers Across The Nation will never be a club—ever. We respect the different levels of clubs and their structures. We don’t want to step on your protocols or ways of being. We want to support everyone, no matter your color or where you’re from. We will never step on the issues related to the politics of club life. We will love and care for each of you, no matter what.

When I first sat down and realized that the name and what we do were bigger than itself, I understood I had a lot of research to do. I began with how society treats bikers, and that was the hardest part. I cried a few nights. I watched one documentary where the media had an opportunity to do good but twisted the story and made bikers look horrible just because they were different. I realized that was something I could change—having an organization that sees all sides and refuses to twist the narrative.

To achieve this, everyone needs to understand who I am and what I’ve been through to understand how I see the world. I brought my perspective into this organization. I have always been a "coexist-er," as they call it. I’ve always been empathetic and caring. Most of all, through everything I’ve been through, I believe in three truths: one side, the other side, and the facts. It's like being analytical in a society that wants you to see only one side. That’s NOT how life is. Society tries to fit you into a perfect box, but if you don't fit, they refuse to empathize with or understand you. Life is colorful and full of diverse ways of living.

I sat and watched a show… I cried afterward. I was emotionally destroyed by how they took something different and hurt the biker community. Just because it doesn’t make sense to the interviewer doesn’t mean it’s a bad way of living.

My mission kept going… I kept watching, trying to understand the what/why/who/how of years of interviews and how the media twisted the biker community. I changed tactics and started researching organizations that were supposed to be supporting every biker and breaking bread with biker clubs.

Come to find out, they were in it for the money, only picking and choosing certain things. They weren’t helping the biker community in the ways it needed. I researched the definition of "biker"...

I almost threw my computer away at that point.

And here we are.

We are building something not for selfish reasons, but to help the biker community grow. An organization that isn’t driven by big pockets but is a truly helpful voice to unite all bikers. An organization that will make a real difference in the biker community. I’m blessed to have the support I already do, and I’m thankful to have built friendships with bikers who’ve been riding for years. These bikers have stepped up with me personally. I had no idea for years what being a biker meant or what the biker codes are. Those codes are not a joke... FYI... I need to put that out there.
